Symptoms, Caring and feeding a Pregnant Dog: Easy Guide

Isolation

In the last three weeks of the pregnancy make it a point not to walk her out and also ensure that she is not exposed to other canines to ensure that she is not susceptible to any illness. Take care to ensure that her time out is monitored and also limited.

The box for whelping

About a fortnight prior to the expected date of delivery, get your dog a box for whelping. This should be fairly large but not too big; just enough space for mother and puppies to be comfortable in. This box will provide space for them for about 1.5 months after birth. Line the box with blankets or towels and ensure that it is in quiet and warm place.
