Birds are pretty to look at and can make a great pet. What is not to like, they stay in their cage and do not run around chewing things or running their claws on the furniture. Plus they do not need to be walked or made to go out to “do their business”. But do not assume that everything is hunky dory, there are some birds that do not handle being petted well and tend to attack with that sharp beak and those pointed talons. Here is a list of birds that are easy to handle and pet:
Canaries: These are birds that are well known for their ability to sing and they tend to look good. Be sure to get a male if you want your pet to sing.
Finch: These are quite social and move about pretty fast and they are easier to handle
Parakeets: These cute birds are quite easy to tame once they get over their initial timidity
Cockatiels: These are the smaller sized parrots that are quite lovable and who love to be petted and coddled.
Quaker parakeets: These birds are vocal and love to interact with human beings.
